Singtel's Nxera Activates 58MW Data Center in Singapore

DC Tuas offers 58MW of AI-ready capacity, bringing Nxera's total operational capacity in Singapore to 120MW. Over 90% of the site's capacity was pre-booked by customers before its launch, reflecting strong demand from enterprises and hyperscale cloud providers for infrastructure supporting next-generation AI workloads.

The 120,000-square-foot, eight-story facility is reportedly equipped with the largest direct-to-chip liquid cooling deployment, dissipating heat more efficiently than traditional methods. It is Singapore's only hyperscale data center integrated with a cable landing station, allowing customers direct access to domestic and international submarine cable networks to improve latency, resilience, and network performance for mission-critical workloads.

Bill Chang, CEO of Nxera and Singtel Digital InfraCo, stated that this marks a significant milestone in expanding AI innovation capabilities in Singapore. In a strategic market where data center capacity is constrained, the ability to sustainably deploy high-density, compute-intensive AI workloads is becoming increasingly critical.

DC Tuas has received the Green Mark Platinum certification jointly awarded by Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The facility integrates solar power generation, rainwater harvesting, condensate reuse, and water recycling systems to minimize environmental impact. In February 2025, Nxera secured a five-year green loan totaling $506 million (S$643 million) specifically for the site's development, with a syndicate including DBS Bank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, and UOB.

The launch of this facility is part of Singtel Digital InfraCo's strategy to deliver end-to-end digital infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region, encompassing connectivity, submarine cables, and data center operations.

Nxera revealed plans to launch new AI-ready capacity in Batam and Johor in the second half of 2026. By then, its total operational and planned capacity is expected to double from 200MW in 2026 to over 400MW in the medium term.
