en.Wedoany.com Reported - The first turbine has been installed at the Dieppe-Le Tréport offshore wind farm in France. The wind farm is located 15 kilometers off the coast of Le Tréport and 17 kilometers off the coast of Dieppe.

Ocean Winds, the majority shareholder of the project, stated on June 15 that the offshore substation was installed at the wind farm last year. In the coming weeks, the turbines will be gradually connected to the grid, achieving first power generation and beginning electricity supply.

This 500-megawatt offshore wind farm is owned by Eoliennes en Mer Dieppe Le Tréport (EMDT), a consortium comprising Ocean Winds, Sumitomo Corporation, and Banque des Territoires. The wind farm will feature 62 Siemens Gamesa 8-megawatt turbines, installed by the Jan De Nul vessel "Vole au Vent".

Ocean Winds noted that the project has mobilized a strong European supply chain and is deeply rooted in France. Siemens Gamesa produces the nacelles and blades at its Le Havre factory, while the tower sections are manufactured by Haizea Wind Group in Bilbao, Spain, and pre-assembled in Brest. The jacket foundations, installed by DEME, are built by a consortium of Navantia Seanergies and Windar Renewables in Fene, Spain, and stored in Cherbourg before installation. The offshore substation was constructed by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, and the submarine cables were produced in Greece. Ocean Winds stated that the offshore installation work carried out by Jan De Nul and DEME has been supported by ports along the English Channel and the North Sea.

"This project relies on a strong, predominantly European supply chain, while maintaining continuous dialogue with local stakeholders and marine users to ensure its smooth integration at sea. As installation progresses, our teams remain fully focused on delivering the project safely and efficiently," said Frédéric Flaus, EMDT Project Director.

The start of turbine installation at Dieppe-Le Tréport marks another milestone for Ocean Winds since early 2026, following the full commissioning of the Îles d'Yeu et de Noirmoutier offshore wind farm and the first power generation from the Golfe du Lion floating wind project.
