en.Wedoany.com Reported - GNM's first Points of Presence (PoPs) in the North American market have gone live at Equinix MI1 in Miami and Equinix DC1 to DC15 and DC21 in Ashburn, marking the first time this international backbone provider and internet exchange operator has expanded its infrastructure into the United States.

The new sites form a dedicated transatlantic platform, directly connecting North America to GNM's European backbone network. The Miami and Ashburn PoPs are deployed as a protected East Coast ring and are fully integrated with GNM's existing infrastructure. This architecture enables customers on both sides of the Atlantic to exchange traffic within a single operational environment, improving routing efficiency and simplifying international network expansion.

The Miami PoP, located at Equinix MI1, provides access to one of the world's most critical hubs for submarine cable system connections linking North America, Latin America, and Europe. The Ashburn PoP, deployed within Equinix's Northern Virginia campus, gives GNM entry into the world's largest data center market, which serves as one of the most crucial interconnection hubs for carriers, cloud platforms, content providers, and enterprises.

Both locations are directly connected to GNM's internet exchange platform, GNM-IX, which currently supports over 700 connected networks with peak traffic exceeding 10.95 Tbps. The new platform enables network operators, carriers, cloud providers, and content networks to exchange traffic more efficiently across continents, offering a combined solution of GNM's interconnection and transport services through a single provider.

The North American network thus gains direct access to traffic exchange in Europe without requiring infrastructure deployment in Europe. For European operators, this expansion provides direct access to two of the most strategically significant interconnection markets in the United States. GNM currently operates over 90 PoPs, more than 700 connected networks, with infrastructure spanning Europe, Asia, and North America.

Alex Surkov, Head of Business Development at GNM, stated: "Going live in Miami and Ashburn is a significant milestone for GNM. The establishment of our first North American platform and direct connection to the European backbone brings simplified interconnection, access to new traffic flows, and the ability to expand internationally through an integrated network ecosystem for customers on both sides of the Atlantic."
