For HIPAA-regulated data, the application supports customizable rules, including one-way irreversible tokenization and generalization (e.g., converting dates to years, full ZIP codes to 3-digit prefixes), to generate unique, client-specific encrypted tokens that support secure record linking and HIPAA de-identification workflows. In terms of secure record linking, multiple parties can bring tokenized data into a shared Databricks Clean Room, securely connecting datasets via protected tokens to enable high-value joint analysis.
