en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) of Iran has submitted a plan to the government to deploy 15 GW of small-scale solar power plants, focusing on the residential, commercial, and agricultural sectors.

Mohsen Tarztalab, CEO of SATBA, stated that promoting the rapid installation of small-scale solar systems requires simultaneous advancement in domestic manufacturing and equipment imports. The organization has submitted a proposal to the government to increase financial resources for residential solar installations.

Tarztalab noted that the development focus will shift from large and small power plants to those in the branch, rooftop, residential, commercial, and agricultural sectors. The new plan will provide complete sets of equipment, including solar panels, hybrid inverters, and batteries, enabling citizens to easily use these systems. Achieving this goal requires general and specialized training in equipment installation, operation, and maintenance.

Tarztalab recently inaugurated 17 specialized solar training centers to accelerate the development of solar power plants in Iran. SATBA has set a target of training 200,000 renewable energy professionals over the next five years.

Iran's first solar project fund may be launched within the next few weeks, with an initial capacity of 500 MW, allowing residential and commercial customers to participate in solar projects by purchasing shares, aiming to increase public participation and attract public capital.

Iran has set a target of achieving 12 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by the end of this year. Tarztalab stated that this target is still achievable despite delays in the arrival of some equipment. Due to transportation restrictions, some equipment has not entered the country on time, but equipment is currently being imported via land, rail, sea, and air routes, and the delays are expected to be compensated in the coming months.

Imported equipment includes hybrid inverters, batteries, and solar panels. The development of hybrid complete sets of equipment is on SATBA's agenda and should be launched as soon as possible. According to a report by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in early June, Iran's cumulative installed renewable energy capacity has now exceeded 5 GW.
