en.Wedoany.com Reported - Epicor unveiled a series of new artificial intelligence features embedded in its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system at the Epicor Insights 2026 conference, aimed at supporting decision-making in manufacturing and supply chain operations. The company introduced a vertical AI agent network called Epicor Prism, the Epicor Lux agent design system, the Epicor Prism Agent Foundry, and several Epicor Prism agents tailored for specific workflows.
Held during the week of May 18 in Nashville, Tennessee, the conference was themed "Fly Higher Together." In his opening remarks, Epicor CEO Steve Murphy described artificial intelligence as a paradox that is both powerful and frightening. He noted that a knowledge gap truly exists, with many people writing about AI without understanding it from a technical perspective. Regarding AI's impact on employment, Murphy argued that the 100,000 layoffs attributed to AI over the past year were actually excuses for over-hiring, and stated that AI would create a net increase in jobs.
At the core of Epicor Prism is Epicor Lux, an agent design system designed to help humans and AI agents communicate dynamically with the ERP system while enforcing consistent user experience and security standards. Built on Lux, the Prism Agent Foundry provides customers and partners with a guided self-service workspace to build customized, vertical-specific agents on the Epicor platform using their own data. Arturo Buzzalino, Epicor's Group Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, stated that Prism allows users to establish new AI capabilities within a secure ERP environment and is becoming a place where users can build their own agents.
Currently, over 50 different Prism agents are available, including a freight spend agent and an MRP log agent. The freight spend agent combines ERP and transportation data to identify carrier discrepancies, reconcile differences, and prevent ongoing freight leakage. The MRP log agent analyzes Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) output logs to help users understand the reasons behind MRP recommendations.
Epicor also operates the largest opt-in ERP dataset, supporting inventory and transactions that account for approximately 40% of the estimated $54 billion U.S. independent wholesale automotive aftermarket. The company believes that the combination of scale, embedded intelligence, and contextual insights provides the foundation needed to responsibly apply AI in complex supply chain workflows, helping customers move beyond isolated use cases and take more consistent action across their operations.
