en.Wedoany.com Reported - Australian rental company CityLift Cranes took delivery of a Franna AT40-2 pick-and-carry crane in June 2026, marking its first unit of this model and the largest pick-and-carry crane in the Franna series. The equipment has been delivered to CityLift Cranes' headquarters in Altona, Melbourne, and will serve engineering projects across Victoria.

Franna, an Australian crane manufacturing brand under the U.S.-based Terex Corporation, specializes in designing and producing pick-and-carry cranes. Unlike traditional cranes that require outriggers to be deployed before operation, pick-and-carry cranes can travel while carrying loads, making them particularly suitable for scenarios requiring frequent heavy load transfers within construction sites. They are widely used in pipeline laying, steel structure installation, equipment maintenance, and other engineering fields. Since its founding in the 1970s, Franna has become a leading brand in the Australian pick-and-carry crane market.

The AT40-2 features a three-axle design with a four-section 19.8-meter main boom and a maximum tip height of 20 meters. The crane can handle its maximum rated load at a 1.1-meter radius and 6-meter height. At full boom extension, the rated load is 3,000 kg, operable at a maximum radius of 15.8 meters with the boom horizontal. Franna Service Manager Andrew Howe stated that the delivery of the first AT40-2 will have a significant impact on projects across Melbourne.

CityLift Cranes, owned and managed by Sam Clark, operates across Victoria. Its fleet includes all-terrain cranes and Franna pick-and-carry cranes. The company previously owned multiple Franna pick-and-carry cranes, and the addition of the AT40-2 further enriches the lifting capacity configuration of its fleet.

The delivery of the AT40-2 represents the latest achievement of Franna's continued deep cultivation in the Australian market and a key move by CityLift Cranes to expand its equipment portfolio and enhance service capabilities. As the largest pick-and-carry crane in the Franna series, the AT40-2 will strengthen CityLift Cranes' market competitiveness in the heavy material handling sector.
