en.Wedoany.com Reported - The world's first 5G intelligent remote-controlled reach stacker has been officially put into operation. Jointly developed by SANY Marine and Qingdao Port Logistics, the equipment was first unveiled at the SANY Marine Global Customer Summit and Electric & Intelligent New Product Launch in January this year. After multiple rounds of testing and optimization iterations, it has now been deployed for the first time in a real-world operational scenario.

Centered on the concept of "separation of personnel and cargo, dual-purpose machine," the equipment integrates technologies such as 5G, wire-controlled systems, and intelligent sensing to build a three-in-one architecture of "wire-controlled system + 5G dual-link control and feedback + 360° intelligent safety," aiming to enhance the intelligence and unmanned operation level of port operations.

The equipment is equipped with a fully electronically controlled wire-controlled chassis, covering four core modules: braking, steering, driving, and operation. It features a full set of steering wheels, pedals, and multi-screen displays, enabling precise remote control of all actions, including container grabbing and placement. The operation logic is consistent with on-site driving, and the control feel is highly restored. Operators are kept away from high-risk sites, and equipment utilization is improved by over 60%.

The equipment adopts a dual-operator dedicated network redundancy scheme, with two links serving as backups for each other, reducing the link failure rate to 0.01%. It uses CRC and cyclic accumulation dual verification encryption to protect commands, status, and video. After optimizing 5G parameters, the delay for control commands and video transmission does not exceed 20 milliseconds, meeting the ultra-high real-time requirements for emergency response.

The equipment integrates multiple cameras and LiDAR to build a 360° intelligent human-machine safety system with no blind spots. The pedestrian recognition rate within a 15-meter range reaches 99%, with a false alarm rate below 1%. The equipment adopts a graded warning mechanism: when a pedestrian is detected within a 15-meter range, an audible and visual alarm is triggered, and the location is announced via voice; when a pedestrian enters the 10-meter safety zone, the equipment automatically brakes and locks the boom. Functions such as driving recorder, panoramic view, and remote announcement are also integrated into the system.

Currently, the core technologies of the equipment are independently controllable. Solutions such as 5G dual-link control and feedback, wire-controlled full actions, and intelligent safety protection have formed standardized technology modules that can be replicated and applied to the remote control upgrade of port engineering machinery such as gantry cranes, forklifts, and stackers. From the initial joint operation demonstration with unmanned flatbed vehicles to the current official deployment, the world's first remote-controlled reach stacker has moved from technical verification to practical application. SANY Marine will continue to advance its globalization, digitalization, and low-carbon strategies, leveraging innovative products to support the intelligent upgrade of global ports.
