The test process showed the Sierra EV accelerating toward a stationary dump truck. Just before impact, the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) intervened and automatically applied the brakes, bringing the vehicle to a stop. Subsequently, a small van rear-ended the Sierra EV, pushing it into the rear of the dump truck. Tata Motors did not disclose details of the trucks used in the test, nor the speed of the van at the time of the rear-end collision. The company stated in a statement that the passenger compartment structure remained intact after the crash, and the battery pack was also undamaged. Except for the completely deformed tailgate, all doors could be opened normally, and the front airbags deployed in time, effectively protecting the crash test dummies. Thanks to the braking system that had been activated before the rear-end impact, the collision between the Sierra and the dump truck was effectively cushioned.

In terms of safety features, the Sierra EV comes standard with six airbags (front, side, curtain), four-wheel disc brakes, tire pressure monitoring, electronic stability program, and height-adjustable seatbelts. Higher-end variants additionally offer front parking sensors, SOS calling, and Level 2 ADAS. Currently, the vehicle has not yet received a Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for India) rating, but the Sierra EV is likely to be submitted for testing soon. The ex-showroom price range for the Sierra EV is between 1.879 million and 2.6 million Indian rupees.
