en.Wedoany.com Reported - Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) has added three new 33 kV power lines in Ranchi to enhance the supply reliability of the city's distribution network. This project is part of the ongoing modernization of the state's distribution infrastructure, aimed at addressing growing electricity consumption and building a more resilient and efficient power system.
The newly commissioned 33 kV lines enable a more balanced distribution of power to multiple load centers, alleviating congestion on existing feeders and optimizing power flow. These lines create backup pathways within the grid, allowing power supply to be maintained during maintenance, equipment failures, or localized issues. This design helps reduce the frequency of outages and improves overall power supply performance for residential, commercial, and industrial users.
The core objective of commissioning these lines is to address recurring outages caused by rising demand due to urban expansion and the overloading of aging equipment. It is expected to improve load management during both normal and peak hours, and enhance voltage regulation across the network. Better load balancing and optimized power flow will also reduce technical losses and improve the efficiency of distribution operations.
The enhanced distribution capacity supports economic activity by reducing production interruptions and ensuring a stable power supply for hospitals, educational institutions, and government services. This upgrade is seen as laying a more solid foundation for the future deployment of technologies such as smart grids, automatic fault detection, and advanced metering, which can further shorten response times and optimize predictive maintenance. Through these current investments in grid reinforcement, the company is creating room to support sustained growth and accommodate distributed renewable energy sources.
