en.Wedoany.com Reported - Moto Hospitality has launched a new Moto CHARGE ultra-fast charging hub at its Tamworth site. Equipped with dedicated electric heavy goods vehicle (eHGV) charging bays, the hub sets a new industry standard for supply chain decarbonization.

The charging station offers ultra-fast charging speeds of up to 360kW, features accessible charging bays, and supports multiple payment methods. The hub provides reliable services and amenities for both private car owners and commercial fleets.

Through dedicated eHGV charging bays, the hub addresses infrastructure barriers in commercial fleet decarbonization. Additionally, the site significantly expands public charging capacity in the West Midlands, offering a premium experience for UK drivers and accelerating the transition to reliable and accessible charging infrastructure.

The launch of the Tamworth site is a key part of Moto's £500 million investment plan. This plan is actively deploying funds to upgrade facilities, quadruple the number of Moto's electric vehicle charging bays, and accelerate the nationwide rollout of eHGV infrastructure.

The ultra-fast charging hub features 24 car charging bays and 8 dedicated eHGV charging bays. The dedicated eHGV bays mark a critical step in overcoming physical barriers to commercial fleet decarbonization, though Moto acknowledges that broader industry transformation remains an ongoing challenge.

The hub's open-access charging model sets a new standard for freight operators and supply chain managers. To ensure the power delivery and uptime required by the logistics, automotive, and consumer sectors, Moto continues its collaboration with GRIDSERVE and Actemium.

Building on the success of GRIDSERVE's government-backed Electric Freightway program—where Actemium recently delivered the UK's first public eHGV charging hub at Moto's Exeter site—these organizations have once again partnered to deploy high-capacity infrastructure in Tamworth.

Ken McMeikan, CEO of Moto Hospitality, stated that launching Moto CHARGE at the Tamworth site is a milestone for both Moto and the UK logistics industry. By introducing dedicated open-access eHGV charging bays and high-capacity car charging, the hub directly addresses the infrastructure gap hindering commercial fleet decarbonization. Together with partners including Actemium, GRIDSERVE, and Last Mile, Moto is providing supply chain managers with reliable ultra-fast power supply, while taking a critical step in its £500 million commitment to transform the UK's motorway network. The goal is to deliver a scalable blueprint, proving this model works and encouraging broader industry and public sector collaboration to build a truly national network.
