en.Wedoany.com Reported - WeDoAny News, July 3 – Envision AESC announced that its 46120 large cylindrical battery product has achieved mass production at its super factories in Cangzhou and Wuxi Jiangyin. The battery will be first supplied to multiple models on BMW Group's "Neue Klasse" pure electric platform. This product is currently the largest single-cell capacity battery among the mass-produced 46-series batteries globally, with an energy density of up to 310 Wh/kg. Its single-cell usable capacity is nearly 30% higher than the 4695 battery used in the BMW iX3.

The Envision AESC 46120 large cylindrical battery has a diameter of 46 mm and a height of 120 mm. Compared to the industry mainstream 4680 and 4695 batteries, it increases single-cell capacity while reducing the number of battery pack components, improving system integration efficiency and freeing up more interior space. This battery will debut on BMW's all-new pure electric model iX5, which features a 141.0 kWh battery and all-wheel drive system, delivering a maximum output of 578 horsepower and an estimated range of approximately 700 km in the U.S. market.

According to public information, the launch version of the new BMW iX5, the iX5 60 xDrive, is scheduled to hit the market in the first quarter of 2027.
