Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate Jodhpur Airport Terminal and Pachpadra Refinery

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that Prime Minister Modi will arrive in Jodhpur from New Delhi to unveil the modernized airport terminal, and will then proceed to Pachpadra-Balotra for the refinery inauguration ceremony. The Pachpadra project, with an investment of 794.59 billion rupees (794,590 million rupees, as provided by state officials), represents a major petroleum infrastructure investment in Rajasthan. The ceremony was originally scheduled for April 21 but was postponed due to a fire at the venue the day before the inauguration.

In addition to the refinery and airport terminal, Prime Minister Modi also plans to lay the foundation stones or inaugurate several other projects via video conference, including the Jaipur Metro Rail Phase Two, with an investment exceeding 130 billion rupees (130,000 million rupees). The Rajasthan government is coordinating with central agencies to finalize the event schedule and security arrangements, with technical and administrative teams conducting detailed rehearsals. Chief Minister Sharma has visited Jodhpur and Balotra to inspect preparations, spending over two hours at the Pachpadra refinery and Balotra sites to assess technical and administrative readiness. He plans to return and fly to New Delhi to attend a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss follow-up actions on the Yamuna River tripartite water agreement. Local authorities stated that security and traffic management measures around the venues will be strengthened to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit.
