en.Wedoany.com Reported - SAP announced on Monday (6th) that Nokia has signed a new multi-year agreement to accelerate enterprise transformation through the RISE with SAP methodology, based on a SAP cloud ERP environment hosted on Microsoft Azure. The expanded tripartite collaboration focuses on accelerating modernization to lay the foundation for expanding artificial intelligence applications and simplifying ERP management.

The initial cooperation agreement was signed at the end of 2025, aiming to modernize Nokia's SAP environment. By adopting the RISE with SAP methodology, Nokia will follow a structured transformation path covering processes, data, applications, and operating models, while ensuring continuous access to innovations and AI capabilities within the SAP cloud ERP portfolio.
Manos Raptopoulos, SAP's President of Global Customer Success (responsible for Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa) and member of the SAP Extended Board, stated that Nokia's decision demonstrates a clear commitment to business-driven transformation. He noted that the RISE with SAP methodology provides a structured roadmap, integrated tools, and a continuous innovation pipeline, enabling Nokia to modernize its ERP environment, maintain a clean core, and establish a solid foundation for expanding AI applications.
Marek O?kay, Nokia's Global Vice President of IT Procurement and Supplier Management, said that adopting new tools is not just a technology migration but provides a complete framework to support enterprise transformation. This implementation allows Nokia to focus on strategic business initiatives rather than infrastructure management. He believes this agreement solidifies Nokia's partnership with SAP and Microsoft, reinforcing the strategy to make core operations more resilient. By adopting the RISE with SAP methodology based on Microsoft Azure, Nokia has established a future-ready foundation capable of simplifying its ERP environment, accelerating continuous innovation, and expanding the application of AI-driven processes.
Microsoft Azure will serve as the cloud platform supporting Nokia's RISE with SAP transformation. Part of Nokia's SAP environment is already running on Azure, and the company plans to enhance performance, security, reduce latency, and improve operational resilience by consolidating these workloads onto a single hyperscale platform. Microsoft will collaborate with SAP and Nokia throughout the transformation process, supporting migration activities and the ongoing optimization of the environment.
Joacim Damgard, Microsoft's Vice President for Enterprise in the Nordic region, stated that this collaboration demonstrates how cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and artificial intelligence can drive global transformation projects in an integrated manner. By running SAP Cloud ERP on Azure through the RISE with SAP journey, Nokia has established a scalable and secure foundation for continuous innovation.
