en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tata Steel has launched an upgraded version of its Colorcoat Prisma^® pre-coated steel range, featuring new color options and extended warranty periods, aiming to provide solutions that balance durability and design flexibility for building envelopes.

First introduced in 2005, Colorcoat Prisma^® pre-coated steel has been used in projects across the UK, Europe, and globally. The product has undergone extensive testing and is considered by Tata Steel to be the most tested pre-coated steel in its class, setting an industry standard as a next-generation product.

The upgraded product introduces a redesigned Seren color range, inspired by the original Elements range (which will be phased out gradually). New shades include Seren Oren, Seren Aurum, Seren Champagne, Seren Titanium, and Seren Mirage, each offering a timeless and intense finish. These tones complement existing solid, matte, and special metallic color options, providing greater design freedom for architects and specifiers. Additionally, Tata Steel's Repertoire^® custom color service can match almost any solid color (subject to minimum order quantities).

The Colorcoat Prisma^® range utilizes advanced three-layer coating technology. All Seren colors have the same coating thickness as standard solid, matte, and metallic options, ensuring consistency in product specifications. The textured version, launched a few years ago, has a nominal thickness of 70 microns and is a robust material suitable for roofing. This three-layer coating system provides high levels of UV and corrosion protection, achieving Ruv5 and RC5+ ratings under the EN 10169 standard, and ensures long-lasting color and gloss retention.

Tata Steel's Confidex^® warranty is one of the most comprehensive in Europe, offered directly to building owners to simplify potential claims processes. The warranty also covers the use of photovoltaic (PV) frame modules without reducing the warranty period. For the new Seren shades, the Confidex^® warranty period for roofs and walls is 40 years in inland environments and 30 years in coastal environments. For all colors, the roof warranty has been extended from 35 to 40 years in inland environments and from 25 to 30 years in coastal environments.

In addition to the new Seren shades, the relaunched Colorcoat Prisma^® range also offers a Sparkle option (for select colors, subject to minimum order quantities). To address climate warming challenges and reduce building cooling needs, a limited range of colors (including Cream, Hamlet, Oyster, and Anthracite) will be available with improved Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) options.
