en.Wedoany.com Reported - Russia's CHETRA company and Indonesia's PT. Minang Jordanindo signed a memorandum of understanding at INNOPROM-2026 (Russia International Industrial Exhibition) to initiate localized production of equipment in Indonesia. The project spans 10 years, adopting a phased technology transfer model similar to Russia's special investment contracts.

CHETRA launches localized equipment production in Indonesia

The production is positioned as Indonesian products based on Russian technology and CHETRA's experience. Both parties will develop a joint roadmap covering investment parameters, timelines, and required preferential policies. Localization will proceed in phases according to Indonesia's existing component base and rapid economic growth. Indonesia, the world's fourth most populous country, is a strategic priority market for CHETRA: abundant coal and nickel reserves, along with large-scale infrastructure projects (including the capital relocation and protective works), create sustained demand for bulldozers and pipelayers. Currently, CHETRA T25 equipment is already in use in Indonesia's coal industry, and multiple batches of pipelayers have been delivered. CHETRA Executive Director Vladimir Antonov stated that this project is a natural extension of long-term dialogue with Indonesia since 2007; the phased technology transfer model will enable partners to enhance local capabilities, while CHETRA can firmly establish itself in this region with immense infrastructure potential.
