en.Wedoany.com Reported - Red House International School in Cuiabá, Brazil, has adopted an Energy as a Service (EaaS) model to install a solution combining photovoltaic power generation and battery energy storage, aiming to enhance power supply security.

Canal Solar - School Enhances Energy Security with Energy as a Service Model

The project was contracted by GreenYellow under the EaaS model, requiring no initial investment from the school, with compensation linked to contractually agreed performance. The project includes a 158 kWp photovoltaic plant integrated with two energy storage systems, each with a capacity of 215 kWh, expected to generate approximately 250 MWh annually, with a total investment estimated at 1.6 million BRL. The project was developed in collaboration between Enerzee and WEG.

Marcelo Xavier, CEO of GreenYellow, stated that this model reduces uncertainty, improves the predictability of energy costs, and enhances customer competitiveness by combining operational and financial benefits. From a technical perspective, the energy storage system allows the school to maintain power supply during grid outages while optimizing consumption by storing energy for use during peak electricity price periods, thereby reducing electricity expenses.
