en.Wedoany.com Reported - Infineon Technologies AG recently announced that it will supply CoolSiC™ MOSFET 1200 V and the accompanying dual-channel EiceDRIVER™ 2EDB9259Y gate driver to ADVANTICS, a company specializing in silicon carbide (SiC) power electronics and control systems, for its new liquid-cooled power converter series.
These components are designed to enhance the efficiency, power density, and reliability of applications such as megawatt charging systems for heavy-duty vehicles and marine vessels, energy storage systems, and DC microgrids for data centers. The electrification of heavy-duty vehicles and marine vessels is crucial for reducing global emissions, but existing charging infrastructure is too slow for most industrial vehicles. Megawatt charging systems can deliver nearly ten times faster charging speeds, thereby accelerating the transition to electric mobility in sectors such as heavy-duty trucks, mining, and maritime transport. Through collaboration, Infineon and ADVANTICS are advancing the development of megawatt charging systems, supporting the electrification of industries long considered difficult to decarbonize.
Rodrigo Marquina, Manager of Power Supply and EV Charging Applications at Infineon, stated that working with ADVANTICS to accelerate the deployment of megawatt charging infrastructure enables more efficient and compact power conversion systems, thereby supporting next-generation e-mobility applications. Anders Mikkelsen, R&D Director and Co-founder of ADVANTICS, noted that based on nearly a decade of experience bringing SiC-based power converters to market, the company's confidence in this technology continues to grow, and Infineon is a key partner on its development path.
ADVANTICS' liquid-cooled power conversion platform is based on modular 100 kW building blocks, enabling scalable systems up to the megawatt level. This solution features bidirectional operation, supports a wide voltage range up to 1500 V, achieves a peak efficiency of 98.5%, and allows flexible integration with grids, batteries, and high-power charging infrastructure. This architecture is designed to support demanding applications in heavy-duty transport, maritime, and grid-connected energy systems while ensuring reliable and efficient power conversion.
Through continuous innovation and collaboration, Infineon and ADVANTICS are powering the development of more efficient and sustainable energy infrastructure.
