en.Wedoany.com Reported - Grab Philippines recently announced that it has signed cooperation agreements with ACMobility and EVOxCharge, respectively, aiming to expand charging infrastructure coverage and provide discounted charging rates for electric taxis and Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) drivers on its platform.

Under the terms of the agreements, operators and partner drivers of GrabTaxi Electric and GrabCar Electric can access a network of over 600 charging points at preferential rates. Grab stated that this move could reduce charging costs by up to 45%, thereby addressing two major challenges hindering the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs): the availability of charging stations and charging costs.
The company further noted that lower charging rates help improve the operational economics of electric vehicles on its platform. Citing field data from EV drivers and operators, it indicated that compared to similar internal combustion engine vehicles, EVs can reduce operating costs per kilometer by approximately 75% to 87%.
CJ Lacsican, Country Head of Grab Financial Group Philippines, said: "Sustainability can no longer be seen merely as a green movement. For us, it has become a livelihood commitment. Through these partnerships, we are building the necessary support system so that more drivers can confidently consider electrification—not only as a cleaner mode of transport but also as a strategy for livelihood resilience amid fluctuating fuel prices. Ultimately, the entire industry shares a common goal: protecting the livelihoods of transport workers while safeguarding the daily mobility of the communities they serve."
In the partnership with ACMobility, Grab drivers and operators can utilize the ChargeFleet platform—a digital fleet management tool designed for monitoring and managing EV charging credits. Grab stated that the system also streamlines shift handovers between drivers and reduces administrative workload for operators. ChargeFleet is integrated into the Evro application, which, according to ACMobility, allows users to access over 500 EV charging points nationwide, located at gas stations, malls, hotels, retail stores, office buildings, and residential areas. The app also displays charging stations certified by the Philippine Department of Energy.
On the other hand, EVOxCharge operates over 130 charging points, including its charging hub at TDG InHub in Taguig and stations at SM and S&R outlets. The company also offers xCharge+, a fleet charging platform that reportedly helps operators manage daily charging and driver operations.
To enjoy discounted charging rates, operators and partner drivers of GrabTaxi Electric and GrabCar Electric must register with Grab using the email address associated with their Evro or xCharge+ accounts to be included in the program.
