en.Wedoany.com Reported - Anthropic has expanded the Claude Cowork feature from workstations to the web and smartphones, allowing users to continue executing complex tasks on the go, with scheduled sessions running automatically even when the device is not actively connected.
Previously, Claude Cowork was limited to desktop use, requiring users to maintain a connection to advance their work. Launched earlier this year, this feature already accepted complex tasks directly delegated by users, including file management, writing, and scheduling, with the AI handling multiple tasks continuously in the background. The new version removes this restriction, fundamentally changing the nature of human-tool collaboration—work now follows the user, rather than the other way around. Tasks started on a computer can be tracked on a phone, and completed tasks can be retrieved on any device. Scheduled sessions can even run when the device is not actively connected; for example, a client meeting can be prepared at 6:00 AM: Claude analyzes email correspondence, transcribed content, and the latest news, then writes a summary document and leaves unsent reply drafts.
Anthropic emphasizes a key control point: once the assistant makes a decision requiring human arbitration, a notification is sent to the user's phone, allowing the user to verify or readjust the current task. Nothing is finalized without explicit verification from the relevant personnel. According to the company, over 90% of Cowork usage scenarios are not software development, but routine office tasks such as administrative management and content creation.

On desktop, the full experience remains available, with access to local files and the browser. The desktop application remains the preferred environment for executing the most complex tasks, while the web and mobile versions are primarily used for remote tracking and remote control of tasks executed on other devices. Anthropic has taken this opportunity to unify the product interface: on the web and desktop, the classic conversational Claude chat and Cowork now share the same interface, as do projects and artifacts (small applications Claude can generate on demand).
Deployment will be gradual. Max subscribers have priority access starting today, with other plans following in the coming weeks. To mark this launch, Anthropic has also temporarily doubled the usage limit for Cowork until August 5, giving users more room to test larger tasks before the feature is fully rolled out to all subscription plans.
