en.Wedoany.com Reported - Canadian gold exploration company Radisson Mining Resources (TSX-V:RDS) has achieved record drilling results at the O'Brien gold project in Quebec; within a 5.1-meter-wide mineralized interval, a 1-meter intercept graded up to 1,603.95 g/t gold, with the interval averaging 316.31 g/t gold.
The drill hole targeted the deep extension below the former mine's stopes. Radisson stated that the intercept is characterized by abundant visible gold, observed in the Pontiac Group rocks at a depth of 823 meters downhole. The company believes this may represent a new "high-grade" mineralized zone outside the current resource area.
In the ongoing 140,000-meter expansion drilling program, three drill holes have yielded key results in their respective targets. Specific intercepts include: a 5.0-meter section grading 3.97 g/t gold in the eastern zone of the O'Brien mine, including 1.3 meters at 10.47 g/t gold; a 3.9-meter section grading 46.22 g/t gold in the Trend One zone, including 1.3 meters at 132.28 g/t gold; and a 2.6-meter section grading 8.60 g/t gold in the Trend One-Trend Two Gap area, including 1.5 meters at 13.87 g/t gold.
President and CEO Matt Manson stated that the company took the "unusual" step of releasing results from only three drill holes due to their "significant" nature. Manson recalled that in December 2024, the company reported a drill intercept of 1.0 meter grading 1,345 g/t gold, interpreted as an extension of the O'Brien "jewelry box" mining stope; this new mineralized zone is located in Pontiac metasedimentary rocks, with 1.0 meter grading 1,604 g/t gold. He noted that these results reinforce three key exploration themes at O'Brien: the potential for new high-grade mineralization in the Pontiac formation, the continued extension of O'Brien gold mineralization at depth, and additional mineralization in gaps from previous insufficient drilling.
Historically, the O'Brien mine produced over 500,000 ounces of gold from a vertical extent of at least 1,000 meters, with an average grade exceeding 15 g/t gold. Modern exploration focuses on delineating vein mineralization below and east of the historical mine. Radisson is currently using eight drill rigs, employing pilot holes, directional drilling, and wedge branching techniques. The expansion program targets completed drill holes in non-resource areas, achieving an 81% intercept rate, with mineralization remaining open in all directions.
Radisson Mining Resources is a Canadian gold exploration company focused on its wholly-owned O'Brien gold project. The project is located along the Cadillac-Larder Lake fault zone in the Abitibi region of Quebec, Canada.
