2026 China Hubei-Hunan Engineering Machinery Industry Cooperation Matchmaking Conference Held in Suizhou, Hubei
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 9, the 2026 China Hubei-Hunan Engineering Machinery Industry Cooperation Matchmaking Conference was held in Suizhou, Hubei, known as the "Capital of Chinese Special-Purpose Vehicles." The industrial and information technology authorities, industry associations, and over 300 key enterprises from the two provinces gathered together. Leveraging the differentiated industrial advantages of the two regions, they opened up cross-provincial supporting chains and implemented a number of heavyweight industrial chain cooperation projects, setting a benchmark for the coordinated development of advanced manufacturing in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.

Currently, the global engineering machinery industry is accelerating its transformation towards green, intelligent, and electric solutions, with strong domestic industrial recovery momentum. In 2025, China's total import and export trade volume of engineering machinery reached $62.743 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%. From January to May 2026, the industry maintained double-digit export growth, with sales of electric and unmanned engineering equipment rising significantly. At the same time, there is a regional supply-demand disconnect between domestic engineering machinery manufacturing and specialized supporting industries. Cross-regional industrial chain collaboration has become a key lever to address industrial shortcomings and enhance overall competitiveness.
Both Hubei and Hunan are located in the core area of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city cluster, sharing cultural ties and industrial symbiosis. The engineering machinery and specialized automotive industry form a naturally complementary landscape. Changsha, Hunan, is a global hub for the engineering machinery industry, hosting five of the world's top 50 engineering machinery companies, including SANY, Zoomlion, and Sunward Intelligent. Hubei, relying on the Wuhan-Shiyan-Suizhou-Xiangyang automotive industry corridor, has built a comprehensive specialized vehicle supporting industrial cluster. Cities like Suizhou, Shiyan, Xiangyang, and Wuhan have ample production capacity in heavy-duty components, special modifications, and commercial vehicle chassis. The industrial integration of the two provinces holds vast potential for mutual benefit.

Li Qicong, Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation, interpreted the significance of this matchmaking conference from the perspective of the overall development of the national machinery industry. He noted that in 2025, the revenue, profits, and foreign trade indicators of China's machinery industry all showed positive trends, with the engineering machinery and specialized vehicle segments demonstrating strong resilience. Amid the wave of global industrial transformation, the engineering machinery industry in central China must break down regional barriers and deepen collaboration to compete on the world stage. Hubei and Hunan should seize this event as an opportunity to establish a regular exchange and cooperation mechanism, focusing on joint research and development of green and intelligent equipment, collaborative expansion of domestic and international markets, and shared construction of industry standards, working together to propel the central China engineering machinery industrial cluster towards a world-class level.

Tang Yong, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hunan Province, stated that this matchmaking conference is a practical action by Hunan and Hubei to implement the strategies of the Rise of Central China and new industrialization. Hunan will use this event as a link to act as a coordinator and service provider for industrial collaboration between the two provinces, continuously building long-term platforms for enterprise exchanges, technical seminars, and supply-demand matching. It will coordinate and address practical challenges such as mutual recognition of qualifications and resource guarantees in cross-regional cooperation, transforming the complementary industrial advantages of the two regions into tangible orders, projects, and output value. Wang Qiong, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Hubei Province, also stated that industrial collaboration is an important foundation for regional coordination. Hubei is willing to work with Hunan, focusing on the overall development of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city cluster, to deepen cooperation in the engineering machinery industry chain and supply chain, promoting the advancement of the industrial base and modernization of the industrial chain.

As the host of the event, Ma Rong, a member of the Party Leadership Group of Suizhou Municipal Government, stated that holding the 2026 Hubei-Hunan Engineering Machinery Industry Cooperation Matchmaking Conference to discuss major plans for industrial collaboration and outline a blueprint for chain-based development is not only a practical action to implement national strategies and support the Rise of Central China but also a vivid practice of leveraging complementary advantages and seeking common development between the two regions.

During the on-site industrial exchange session, industry associations from both Hubei and Hunan shared their respective experiences in developing the two major industrial clusters. The organizing committee of the Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition also promoted the 2027 Fifth Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition, extending invitations to specialized vehicle and emergency equipment enterprises in Suizhou. Nine benchmark enterprises from the two provinces released supply and demand information on-site. Leading Hunan enterprises issued large-scale procurement demands for chassis, transmissions, and bodies, while Hubei supporting enterprises showcased mature production capabilities in precision forging and special modifications. The precise matching of supply and demand generated a large number of cooperation intentions.
