en.Wedoany.com Reported - TotalEnergies ENEOS has commissioned a nearly 28 megawatt-peak (MWp) rooftop solar photovoltaic system at Samsung Electronics' Consumer Electronics Park (SEHC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This project is the first and largest rooftop solar power purchase agreement (PPA) project in Vietnam, developed under the direct power purchase agreement (DPPA) framework of Vietnam's Decree No. 57, utilizing a dedicated line transaction model.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives from local government and project partners, highlighting the importance of on-site renewable energy solutions in supporting industrial decarbonization and sustainable manufacturing in Vietnam. Under a 20-year power purchase agreement, TotalEnergies ENEOS has financed, designed, installed, and will continue to operate and maintain the rooftop solar system for Samsung Electronics' second-largest global manufacturing plant. The system consists of nearly 45,000 solar photovoltaic modules and is expected to generate over 40,000 megawatt-hours of clean electricity annually, meeting approximately 26% of the plant's annual electricity demand.
The project is expected to avoid more than 500,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the agreement's term. The rooftop solar installation also helps improve energy efficiency by reducing heat absorption in the covered roof area, while enhancing the project's energy independence.
Samsung Electronics stated that this project marks a significant step in its transition to renewable energy and supports the company's global commitment to RE100 renewable electricity procurement. The company described this initiative as an important collaborative example for achieving long-term sustainability goals. TotalEnergies ENEOS emphasized that the project demonstrates how large-scale on-site solar systems can be successfully integrated into complex industrial facilities while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
