China's XCMG XE1050 Mining Excavator Achieves 10.5% Lower Fuel Consumption per Cubic Meter Than 120-Ton Class in Inner Mongolia Field Test

en.Wedoany.com Reported - China's XCMG XE1050, a 100-ton class mining excavator, demonstrated stable performance in earthmoving and loading operations at an open-pit coal mine in Inner Mongolia, validating the capabilities of heavy-duty mining equipment. Under identical working conditions, it achieved a 10.5% reduction in fuel consumption per cubic meter compared to a 120-ton class overseas mainstream brand mining excavator, while delivering nearly equivalent operational productivity despite a 20-ton weight difference.

The XE1050 is equipped with an internationally renowned engine delivering 570.5 kW of power, a large-displacement dedicated main pump, a large-bore main control valve, and an independent closed-loop swing system, resulting in a 14% improvement in overall digging capability. The machine comes standard with a 7.6 m³ reinforced rock bucket, the largest in its tonnage class, and field tests show it can fully load a 60-ton mining truck in 4 to 5 passes.

In terms of energy efficiency, the excavator adopts a no-aftertreatment solution, eliminating the need for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), directly reducing fuel consumption per cubic meter by 15%. It also features XCMG's proprietary intelligent control technology, ensuring more complete fuel combustion, achieving an overall fuel savings of 10% to 20% compared to similar models.

Field test data from a mining area in Inner Mongolia shows the machine's hourly fuel consumption is as low as 82 liters, with fuel consumption per cubic meter at 0.1 liters, and an hourly operational efficiency of 750 to 800 m³. The wear resistance of the undercarriage components has been improved by 60%, while the service life of the boom and arm has been extended by 20%. Currently, the XCMG XE1050 is in use at multiple open-pit mining sites across China.
