en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 10, Beihai Shipbuilding, under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd., delivered the first 210,000-ton liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel bulk carrier, "Mount Asahi," to Singapore's Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) nearly four months ahead of the contract delivery date.

This vessel is a new-generation green and environmentally friendly ship type, equipped with an LNG dual-fuel main engine and a Type C LNG tank. In gas mode, carbon emissions are reduced by approximately 20%, with near-zero sulfur oxide emissions, meeting the third phase requirements of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI). The ship is fitted with an autopilot featuring Track Control System (TCS) functionality, enabling route planning and automatic tracking, effectively shortening voyage distances and reducing energy consumption. Additionally, the configuration of an open-loop scrubber allows the vessel to use high-sulfur fuel oil with a 3.5% concentration, providing shipowners with flexible options for various sulfur content fuels.

Beihai Shipbuilding's current order book and intended orders cover multiple green power solutions, including LNG dual-fuel, ammonia dual-fuel, methanol dual-fuel, and ethanol/methanol triple-fuel systems.
