en.Wedoany.com Reported - Slovenian industrial technical plastics manufacturer Isokon has purchased additional Konecranes crane equipment to assist with pallet handling operations at its production facility.
After first collaborating with Konecranes in 2023 to introduce a crane system on a robotic production line, Isokon has now chosen Konecranes to provide equipment for a newly launched production line. This new line requires frequent and precise movement of pallets loaded with sheets. As production volumes increase, Isokon needed a lifting solution to enhance the speed and accuracy of pallet positioning and improve overall material transfer efficiency.
To meet these requirements, Konecranes supplied a 3.2-ton double-girder overhead crane equipped with target positioning technology and a double-hook hoist. This configuration is designed to achieve stable load handling capabilities and precise pallet placement during the production process. The new crane system is currently used for semi-automatic pallet handling and has become a routine part of Isokon's daily operations. Konecranes worked closely with Isokon to ensure the selected specifications met the needs for repeated transfers and precise positioning on the production line. The system is also equipped with variable frequency drive (VFD) lifting technology, enabling smooth and precise crane operation, allowing operators to achieve better control with less physical effort.
Marko Rožič, Head of Isokon's production unit KOTERM & ISOTRACK, stated that target positioning helps speed up cycle times in the process, and combined with smooth operation, it provides a very good overall experience when using the crane. He noted that the crane is used multiple times daily and is an important part of the process, with the goal of reducing the workload on employees, which this crane has successfully achieved.
Amadej Skornik, Head of the Konecranes sales team in Slovenia, said the customer needed a solution that could combine precise positioning with stable load handling in repetitive lifting cycles. By integrating target positioning with a double-hook hoist, Konecranes simplified pallet handling while improving stability and reducing the physical effort required from operators.
Isokon reports that the implementation of this system has made pallet handling safer, reduced labor intensity for employees, and enabled faster, more consistent transfer cycles required for manufacturing technical plastics.
Recently, Konecranes agreed to acquire a 70% stake in Mitsubishi Electric FA Industrial Products (MFK), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation of Japan.
