en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 13, Sungrow signed a master framework agreement with Philippine renewable energy developer Berde Renewables and its regional distributor Solar Hive, under which Sungrow will supply 200MW of photovoltaic inverters and 500MWh of battery energy storage systems to the latter over the next three years. These equipment will be used for commercial and industrial clean energy projects in the Philippines and Thailand.

Berde Renewables is a renewable energy solutions provider headquartered in the Philippines, co-founded by clean energy veterans Morris Zhou and Patrick Zhu. The company focuses on developing, constructing, and operating distributed renewable energy projects for commercial and industrial clients. It has currently built 50MW of photovoltaic projects, with another 31MW under construction and 150MW in development pipeline, targeting a renewable energy portfolio of 500MW by 2028. Signing this master framework agreement with Sungrow is one of the company's initiatives to accelerate its regional clean energy deployment.

Under the agreement, Sungrow will supply Berde Renewables with a total of 200MW of photovoltaic inverters and 500MWh of battery energy storage systems over the next three years. These equipment will primarily serve commercial and industrial clean energy projects in the Philippines and Thailand, aiming to help local businesses reduce electricity costs and improve energy self-sufficiency.

Sungrow has been continuously expanding its presence in the Southeast Asian market in recent years. In March 2024, the company signed a supply agreement with Thailand's Gulf Energy to provide photovoltaic inverters and liquid-cooled energy storage systems over seven years, meeting the needs of a 3.5GWp project. In 2021, Sungrow provided an integrated solution for Southeast Asia's largest solar-plus-storage plant, with an energy storage capacity of 136.24MWh. In early July 2026, the Santong battery energy storage system developed by Malaysia's national power company was commissioned, with Sungrow supplying a full set of PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled energy storage solutions, totaling 90 systems.

Globally, Sungrow shipped 43GWh of energy storage systems in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 54%; the business segment generated revenue of 37.287 billion yuan, surpassing photovoltaic inverters for the first time to become the company's largest revenue source. Its products are widely used in major power markets including Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific.

As Southeast Asia's economic growth drives continuous increases in electricity demand, coupled with national energy transition policies, the regional energy storage market is entering a period of rapid development. According to market research institutions, the ASEAN energy storage market is expected to grow from $3.67 billion in 2025 to $5.43 billion by 2031, at a compound annual growth rate of 6.76%. Commercial and industrial energy storage, as an important sub-segment, is driven by factors such as enterprises adopting "solar-plus-storage" for self-consumption to save electricity costs, peak-valley arbitrage, participation in peak shaving and frequency regulation, and meeting ESG and carbon tariff requirements.

This 500MWh energy storage order signed between Sungrow and Berde Renewables demonstrates the company's brand influence and technological competitiveness in the Southeast Asian market, and also reflects the rapid growth of regional commercial and industrial clean energy demand. With the execution of the master framework agreement, Sungrow is expected to further consolidate its position in the Southeast Asian energy storage market.
