en.Wedoany.com Reported - Mazak (China) recently launched the DUAL TURN 200L dual-spindle, dual-turret machine tool, designed to address the processing needs of small to medium-sized precision parts in fields such as automotive manufacturing, construction machinery, semiconductor core components, and high-end hydraulic equipment. These parts feature complex structures, diverse material types, and high requirements for precision and batch consistency, posing challenges for traditional decentralized processing models in terms of delivery efficiency, overall costs, and quality stability.

The DUAL TURN 200L is a dual-spindle, dual-turret machine with two independent machining spaces. These spaces can operate simultaneously and independently, or be connected via an automatic workpiece transfer function, allowing a single machine to complete two machining processes. Compared to using two 2-axis CNC lathes for sequential processing, this machine reduces labor costs and work-in-progress inventory, decreases floor space by 30% compared to two equivalent CNC lathes (compared to the Mazak QUICKTURN 200 L), and can reduce the overall layout area for automation by approximately 43%, while also lowering investment.

The machine features left-right symmetrically arranged movable spindles and turrets, with a machining capacity equivalent to two independent CNC lathes. An automatic partition plate is installed in the center of the machine, completely separating the left and right machining areas. The spindles on both sides can independently clamp and machine simultaneously without interference. After the first operation is completed on one spindle, the workpiece is automatically transferred to the other spindle for subsequent operations, eliminating the intermediate handling of semi-finished parts.

The machine is standardly equipped with a 12-station non-lifting high-speed turret, which indexes via a non-lifting rotary method for high-speed opening and closing. The turret uses a shortest-path rotation method (random type), eliminating the need to calculate tool rotation time during programming. Turret indexing time is 0.5 seconds (per station) and 1.4 seconds (full rotation). The X-axis and Z-axis rapid traverse speeds reach 30.5 m/min and 33 m/min respectively, paired with a high-gain servo control system for smooth acceleration/deceleration and excellent tracking performance.

In terms of precision assurance, both the 1st and 2nd spindles adopt a motorized spindle construction with no heat or vibration sources, featuring a built-in motor power of 15 kW (20 HP, 40% ED) for high rotational accuracy. The 76 mm through-hole supports machining of bars up to 65 mm in diameter. All linear axes are equipped with roller guideways, and components such as the bed and turret are optimized through 3D structural design. The thermal displacement control function (thermal shield) provides high-precision compensation for temperature differences between the floor and upper area at the machine installation site, as well as coolant temperature variations.

The machine supports a variety of optional automation functions, including a discharge system, a bar feeder and unloading robot combination, and a gantry automatic loading/unloading system. The discharge system can remove finished parts, and when configured with an unloading robot, enables automated continuous processing of disc-type workpieces for the first and second operations. The bar feeder automatically supplies bars; with a spindle through-hole diameter of 76 mm, bar processing capacity is increased to 65 mm, and the universal bar feeder interface supports both domestic and imported feeders. The gantry mechanism automatically handles blank loading and finished part unloading, with a gantry A-axis feed rate of 120 m/min and a B-axis rate of 160 m/min.

The machine is standardly equipped with the MAZATROL SMOOTH C CNC programming system, featuring a fully updated iteration of both software and hardware, with comprehensively upgraded servo response performance. The system inherits the core technology of the MAZATROL series, integrates a vast array of machining functions, and consolidates common operations onto a simplified keypad panel. It adopts an integrated, standardized operating interface, allowing users to perform various core quick operations without frequently switching display pages.
