The orders were placed by the EPC contractor responsible for three parallel projects at the complex, with the equipment to be used in natural gas processing, a new refinery unit, and a lubricant production unit. The contract value and equipment delivery schedule were not disclosed.

The Boaventura Energy Complex is located in Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro State, and is operated by Petrobras. The complex's existing natural gas processing unit has a designed capacity of 21 million cubic meters per day. Petrobras is also advancing the refinery integration project between the complex and the Duque de Caxias Refinery (REDUC), which includes new hydrocracking, hydrotreating, and hydroisomerization dewaxing units.

Petrobras has signed 13 of the 15 main contracts for the refinery integration project, with the remaining contracts scheduled to be signed in the second half of 2026. The project plans to add production capacity of 76,000 barrels per day of S-10 diesel, 20,000 barrels per day of aviation kerosene, and 12,000 barrels per day of Group II base lubricants, with the relevant units slated to commence operations in May 2029.

The 6 compressor units secured by Burckhardt Compression correspond to the three parallel construction projects at the aforementioned complex.
