en.Wedoany.com Reported - US-based Hirebotics (Nashville, Tennessee) has launched the Cobot Painter, an explosion-proof collaborative robot spraying solution based on the no-code Beacon platform and FANUC (Rochester Hills, Michigan) CRX-10iA/L Paint hardware. Designed for metal fabricators and manufacturers, this solution offers a practical, high-mix, low-volume alternative to manual spraying and complex automated production lines.

Collaborative robot spraying parts

The Cobot Painter aims to bring robotic spraying technology to manufacturers seeking a flexible, affordable alternative to paint booths and manual spraying. It supports both liquid and powder coatings with repeatable precision. Unlike traditional automated spraying systems that require dedicated cells and significant exhaust or conveyor infrastructure modifications, the portable, lightweight Cobot Painter can operate within a manufacturer's existing manual spraying environment, with deployment and commissioning taking days rather than months.

Matt Bush, co-founder and CEO of Hirebotics, stated that the Cobot Painter eliminates the need for dedicated paint cells and complex programming, allowing shops to internalize coating processes, deploy automation within existing spray booths, and deliver the finish quality customers expect without requiring robotics experts. The FANUC CRX-10iA/L Paint collaborative robot is approved for liquid, powder, and gel coating applications in hazardous environments. With a 55.82-inch reach, this cobot is designed to handle large, complex parts, providing consistent coating every cycle while reducing paint waste and overspray.

Similar to Hirebotics' welding and cutting solutions, the Cobot Painter is designed to be fully usable by operators with no robotics or programming experience. Using the Beacon interface on any tablet or phone, operators guide the robot through a single motion using a "teach by clicking" path, and the cobot repeats the same speed, distance, and angle in every cycle. The Cobot Painter currently supports fixed-position spraying, where parts are placed in the paint booth and the robot performs all spraying operations. Future versions will add line tracking capabilities, enabling the robot to track and spray parts moving continuously on a production line.
