en.Wedoany.com Reported - Equinix's MU4 data center expansion project MU4.3 in Aschheim, Munich, Germany, has reached its topping-out milestone. This achievement was announced by Mercury on July 17, marking the imminent start of the interior fit-out phase.
Mercury stated that this milestone paves the way for the subsequent phased fit-out strategy. The MU4.3 project, an expansion of an existing operational facility, will further enhance Munich's status as a European data center hub. During the topping-out ceremony, executives from Mercury and Equinix jointly attended and, as per tradition, raised a wreath on the roof.

Equinix's MU4 data center, located at Dywidagstrasse 10, opened its first phase in 2022, offering 2,250 square meters (24,200 square feet) of colocation space, equivalent to approximately 950 racks. The second phase launched around the second quarter of 2024, adding 750 racks. Upon full completion, the MU4 site will feature four floors with a total area of 13,608 square meters (146,475 square feet), accommodating an additional approximately 2,950 racks.
Currently, Equinix also operates two other data centers in the Munich area, MU1 and MU3, both of which are leased facilities, while MU4 is a company-owned asset.
Eoghan Cremin, Operations Director at Mercury Engineering, stated that Germany has been a stable market for Mercury for nearly two decades, and the company is proud to deliver another data center construction project for a long-term client, committed to achieving results commensurate with its responsibilities.
