en.Wedoany.com Reported - Thai Aviation Industries (TAI), Edgewater Solutions Limited, and Amadeus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at modernising international and regional airports in Thailand to enhance passenger travel experiences and daily airport operational efficiency. This collaboration comes as Thailand continues to invest in airport capacity and service quality to meet growing air travel and tourism demand. Currently, Thai airports serve approximately 140 million passengers annually, with passenger traffic expected to continue rising.

Under the MOU, the parties will explore how seamless travel, biometrics, airport operations, and data capabilities can work together across the passenger journey and its backend processes to help airport stakeholders coordinate operations more effectively and improve passenger flow at key touchpoints. The collaboration covers several areas, including: faster passenger processing—involving self-service and off-airport check-in, automated baggage drop, and real-time baggage reconciliation; seamless identity and border processes—including e-gates, biometrics and identity verification, and free-flow passenger processing; smarter airport operations—involving a centralised Airport Operational Database (AODB), resource management, flight information displays, and apron and ground movement management; and real-time data and platform integration—connecting passenger journey analytics and operational data to support faster decision-making and more dynamic airport operations.
TAI Managing Director ACM Piboon Vorravanpreecha stated that Thailand's airports are vital gateways for tourism and trade, and modernisation is central to the goal of delivering a world-class experience for every traveller while solidifying Thailand's position as a leading aviation hub in Southeast Asia. Partnering with Amadeus and Edgewater enables TAI to access leading technology, services, and knowledge to enhance the passenger journey at Thai airports while making operations more efficient and resilient.
Edgewater Solutions Chairman Titten C Yohannan noted that the strategic collaboration between TAI, Edgewater, and Amadeus will usher in a new era for Thailand's aviation industry. By combining TAI's vision, Edgewater's delivery capabilities, and Amadeus' aviation technology, the parties are committed to transforming modernisation plans into tangible operational improvements, making every traveller's journey and experience more comfortable through world-class airport and airline solutions.
Amadeus Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Asia Pacific Javier Laforgue said that airports face pressure to serve more passengers while providing a smoother and more reliable journey. This collaboration aims to connect the technology, data, and partners needed to achieve this goal. By combining Amadeus' capabilities in airports, biometric identity, and cloud platforms with TAI's vision and Edgewater's delivery expertise, the parties can help shape the next generation of more connected, efficient, and resilient airport operations.
