On the first day (20th), Ulsan City will visit the headquarters of Geumgang General Construction to hold talks with executives and discuss plans to expand local enterprise participation. On the 21st, it will sequentially visit Seohae General Construction, Dongbu Construction, and HL D&I Halla, while meetings with Hyundai Engineering and HDC Hyundai Development Corporation are scheduled for the 22nd.
Ulsan City plans to achieve its 37% local subcontracting rate target for this year by requesting major construction companies to expand the registration of partner enterprises, actively utilizing the "on-site recommendation system" that allows unregistered enterprises to participate in bidding, splitting and subcontracting remaining work types, and expanding region-restricted bidding. Data shows that as of the second quarter of this year, Ulsan's local subcontracting rate stood at 35.95%.
A city government official stated that involving local construction enterprises, which are well-versed in Ulsan's conditions and possess excellent technical capabilities, in subcontracting helps improve project quality, create jobs, and positively contributes to revitalizing the local economy.
