This feature expansion aims to address the operational complexity and information silos that enterprises previously faced when using separate tools to manage servers and endpoints. Workspace ONE supports server security policy enforcement, software updates, configuration management, and operational automation. Although servers have become core infrastructure for running business applications, generative AI models, data analytics, and automated workflows, many enterprises still rely on independent, on-premises management tools.
By integrating server management capabilities into Workspace ONE, IT administrators can directly apply the policies, workflows, and automation features already used on endpoint devices to Windows servers. Key features include server security policy enforcement, automated patch and configuration management, AI/ML-based operational analytics, remote control, remote viewing of server roles, assets, and access logs, as well as unified management and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO).
This solution adopts a cloud-native approach, providing real-time visibility into server security status and automatically executing necessary measures. It supports internet-based management, offering a more flexible operational environment compared to traditional network domain-dependent methods. The AI/ML analytics feature can proactively identify server performance degradation and security issues, enabling administrators to gain comprehensive insight into the status of servers running business applications, AI services, and data analytics systems.
Omnissa stated that by applying the same policies and automation processes to servers, PCs, and mobile devices, the number of management tools can be reduced and operational consistency improved, which helps lower reliance on existing server management solutions such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and reduce total cost of ownership.
