In an official press release issued on July 20, 2026, the company also confirmed that, starting from July 2026, it has increased data allowances for all new and existing SIMON mobile plan customers at no extra cost, with all plans now including 200GB of 5G data.
Convergenze is an operator headquartered in Capaccio-Paestum (Salerno province), Italy, covering fixed telephony, energy, and e-Mobility sectors. The company's Chairman and CEO Rosario Pingaro stated that, on the first anniversary of SIMON's launch, the company has taken another step in the growth path of its mobile plans by increasing data allowances and improving European roaming services, with new features to be introduced in the future. He described the mobile business as a strategic development lever that strengthens customer relationships and creates new growth opportunities.
SIMON mobile plans already include 5G and VoLTE technology, and unless otherwise changed, Wi-Fi Calling is expected to be launched by autumn 2026. This feature allows SIMON customers to make calls via Wi-Fi networks even in areas with poor mobile signal coverage. SIMON by Convergenze plans have been available since July 1, 2025, and their development has benefited from a technical partnership with Vianova (announced in February 2025), enabling the company to operate as an Air Time Reseller (ATR) on the Fastweb + Vodafone (formerly Vodafone Italy) mobile network, offering 5G and VoLTE technology standards. SIMON also offers eSIM with free activation.
Through SIMON plans, Convergenze has become an ATR-type mobile operator, specializing in reselling wholesale traffic from other operators, handling marketing and customer service under its own brand, with SIM cards produced by the supporting operator. Convergenze states that, as an advanced ATR, it transmits both data and voice traffic. The supporting operator for its mobile network plans is Vianova, a full MVNO virtual operator for businesses, which has been using Fastweb + Vodafone's 2G, 4G, and 5G networks since September 9, 2024. The Wi-Fi Calling service to be launched on SIMON SIM cards will be developed in collaboration with Vianova, although Vianova currently does not offer a true VoWiFi service on its SIM cards (except through dedicated applications).
