Kang Dongming, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics, stated that according to the unified accounting results of regional GDP, Jiangxi's GDP in the first half of the year reached 1,803.79 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.0% at constant prices. The foreign trade sector performed particularly prominently, with total imports and exports of goods reaching 262.53 billion yuan, up 18.5%. Among these, exports of the "new three" products grew by 28.5%, and exports of electric passenger vehicles surged by 236.5% year-on-year.
In the first half of the year, Jiangxi's total imports and exports of goods reached 262.53 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%. Among them, exports were 160.67 billion yuan, up 12.0%; imports were 101.86 billion yuan, up 30.5%, demonstrating strong resilience. Imports and exports by private enterprises reached 184.43 billion yuan, up 18.2%, accounting for 70.3% of the province's total foreign trade value. Exports of mechanical and electrical products reached 100.31 billion yuan, up 11.4%, accounting for 62.4% of the province's total export value. The 236.5% growth rate in electric passenger vehicle exports became the biggest highlight in the foreign trade sector.
Kang Dongming stated that Jiangxi continues to promote the transformation of industries towards high-end, digital, and intelligent directions, with emerging industries accelerating their growth and new quality productive forces strongly supporting high-quality economic development. In the first half of the year, the added value of high-tech manufacturing industries above the designated size grew by 9.2%, 5.4 percentage points higher than that of industries above the designated size. The added value of the equipment manufacturing industry grew by 8.0%. The output of 3D printing equipment and industrial robots increased by 90.8% and 32.4%, respectively. Retail sales of new energy vehicles grew by 18.1%.
Kang Dongming summarized the economic performance in the first half of the year using four "trends": "improving, innovating, greening, and warming." The service sector contributed over 70% to economic growth; new quality productive forces continued to expand, with revenue from digital factor-driven industries growing by 46.3%; the green and low-carbon transformation accelerated, with investment in environmental governance growing by 44.8%; and livelihood expenditures accounted for 80.9% of general public budget expenditures.
