en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) recently issued a logistics service tender to provide port operation support for its Antarctic expedition plan. The tender covers port logistics agency services in the cities of Ushuaia, Argentina, and Punta Arenas, Chile, with an estimated contract value of €1,350,333.06 and a base tender price of €1,361,585.83.

CSIC requires the appointment of an agency designated by local port authorities to handle all transportation procedures for Antarctic expedition personnel and cargo, including customs documentation and safety protocol processing, as well as reception and certification services for scientists, technicians, and crew members participating in the expedition. The tender encompasses sea and air cargo handling, cargo consolidation and deconsolidation, waste management, heavy cargo handling, and personnel and vessel services. The logistics services will commence at the start of the Southern Hemisphere summer, beginning December 12, for a duration of six months.

CSIC's Marine Technology Unit is responsible for managing the logistics coordination of the Antarctic expedition. Spain's Antarctic expedition activities are the result of collaboration among multiple public institutions. During its expedition missions, the Spanish Navy's research vessel "Hespérides" will dock at the ports of Ushuaia and Punta Arenas to transfer scientific personnel and supply materials to Antarctic bases. This logistics tender aims to ensure smooth port operations during the Antarctic expedition, providing support and guarantees for scientific research activities.
