The project, with a total investment of £55 million, will build 184 new homes on Plot 2C within the 900-acre community, which will ultimately provide approximately 7,000 homes.

Chris Edge, Operations Director at Edenstone, noted that the initial works include constructing the main road leading to Porth yr Awen, providing access for infrastructure works that will prepare the site for new homes in this development and subsequent phases. Once the access road is complete, construction of homes along the tree-lined avenue will begin.
Porth yr Awen is designed as a modern urban community, featuring contemporary homes, carefully planned green spaces, and landscaped areas to create a welcoming neighborhood environment.
The project will provide 127 open market homes and 57 affordable homes, including one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom houses and apartments. These homes are designed to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate rating of A, making them among the most efficient. Affordable housing options include intermediate rent and low-cost home ownership to ensure a balanced and inclusive community. The first homes are expected to go on sale in early 2027, with the first residents anticipated to move in later that year.
The development is designed around a tree-lined main avenue, connecting the entrance to a network of open spaces, helping to create a connected, walkable community. The land acquired by the joint venture is Plot 2C of Plasdŵr. Plasdŵr is a £2 billion, 7,000-home garden city in Cardiff, covering 900 acres, bordering Radyr, Danescourt, Fairwater, Pentrebane, and St Fagans, located in the northwest of the capital, and identified as a key site in the Cardiff Local Development Plan to drive the city's economic growth.
