en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Director-General of Brazil's National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), Sandoval Feitosa, along with the agency's Regulatory Director, Giàcomo Bassi, conducted a technical visit to distribution company Light to follow up on measures taken to restore power supply in areas of Rio de Janeiro state affected by strong winds. In the Baixada Fluminense region, some neighborhoods have been without electricity for over 48 hours.

During the meeting, representatives of Light presented its emergency plan, including expanding service teams, prioritizing the restoration of power to critical facilities, and carrying out operations in the areas with the most severe damage to electrical infrastructure. After hearing the presentation, the ANEEL regulatory team assessed the measures to confirm the safety of the power system and to expedite the restoration of electricity supply.

Light stated that its operational plan has been further reinforced, with more than 2,000 professionals currently working on the front lines to accelerate the restoration of power to areas still affected by the strong winds. The company reported that damage to facilities at multiple locations requires the replacement of equipment such as utility poles and cables, as well as the clearing of trees and debris that have fallen onto power lines.

ANEEL stated that it will continue to monitor Light's response actions, overseeing the concessionaire's compliance with its obligations and verifying that it is taking all necessary measures to restore the power system in the affected areas to normal and ensure the supply of electricity to consumers.
