World's First UHV Project Serving Nuclear Power Transmission Starts Energized Commissioning
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 21, as the 1000 kV Yantai (Haiyang West) UHV switching station started system commissioning, the Yanwei 1000 kV UHV project officially entered the energized commissioning phase.

Energized commissioning is the final hurdle before the project is put into operation, comparable to a "test run" before a highway is officially opened to traffic. After commissioning is completed, the project will enter a 72-hour energized trial operation phase.

The system commissioning of the Yanwei UHV AC project and the Haiyang Xin'an nuclear power transmission project mainly involves a comprehensive inspection of the primary and secondary equipment involved in the project as well as the operating performance of the UHV system, including whether the UHV system voltage is normal during system commissioning, whether the newly commissioned equipment can withstand the impact of multiple switching operations, whether the tested relay protection equipment is operating normally, and whether overvoltage, electromagnetic environment, infrared and ultraviolet levels are within the ranges permitted by standards or equipment technical specifications.
The energized commissioning of the AC system is scheduled to be carried out from September 21 to September 24, requiring the sequential completion of switching the 110 kV side low-voltage reactor, switching the 1000 kV no-load line, and closing and opening the 1000 kV line loop, after which the project will enter the trial operation phase, involving 13 test items.

The Yanwei UHV project is the world's first UHV project serving nuclear power transmission and is also a key channel serving the outward transmission of wind and solar renewable energy bases in the Jiaodong Peninsula of Shandong. The line has a total length of 1,197 kilometers, passing through five cities: Yantai, Qingdao, Rizhao, Weifang, and Linyi. The project connects with the original UHV ring network in western Shandong, forming a "figure-eight" double-ring structure and creating the country's first provincial-level UHV double-ring network, helping to transmit clean electricity from Jiaodong to all parts of Shandong Province.
