en.Wedoany.com Reported - Huisman, a Dutch specialist in lifting equipment, has secured a contract from CIMC Raffles Offshore to provide lifting and handling systems for a new-generation deepwater offshore installation vessel. The vessel is being built for a joint venture between Solstad Offshore and SBM Offshore.

The contract includes an integrated equipment package consisting of a 350-ton A-frame, a 500-ton knuckle boom crane, a 20-ton auxiliary crane, and a 2,500-ton storage basket for flexible pipes, fiber ropes, and anchor chains, designed to support a wide range of offshore construction and installation operations.

The 350-ton A-frame is designed to lower ropes from the vessel's main winch system and integrates Huisman's patented active heave compensation technology to ensure safe lifting operations in harsh sea conditions. The 500-ton knuckle boom crane, working in conjunction with the auxiliary crane, will provide the vessel with lifting and handling capabilities suitable for global offshore construction projects.

David Roodenburg, CEO of Huisman, stated that the company is proud of the trust placed in it by Solstad Offshore and SBM Offshore, noting that this order marks its first project for the joint venture and represents a significant milestone, while also expressing gratitude for the continued successful collaboration with CIMC Raffles. He said the company aims to deliver this equipment through a combination of advanced technology and offshore operational experience, enabling the vessel to safely and efficiently execute a variety of complex installation and construction activities.

This order marks Huisman's first project for the Solstad Offshore-SBM Offshore joint venture and further expands its cooperation with CIMC Raffles. The company stated that this contract also strengthens its position in the Norwegian offshore market and supports its focus on developing lifting and handling systems for offshore construction, subsea, and energy sectors.
