en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 14, Indian robotics company Genrobotics announced that it has been awarded a space robotics research and development project by the U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), a unit under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), to develop an indigenously developed multi-joint extendable robotic arm system for the deployment and high-precision pointing control of satellite platform reflectors. The project is being undertaken by Genrobotics' Space & Advanced Robotics business division, which is responsible for design, development, and engineering implementation.

According to the development mandate, the robotic arm adopts a multi-link joint structure and is mounted on the satellite platform, tasked with position adjustment and directional control of space communication reflectors and related payload instruments. The system design must withstand the mechanical loads during the spacecraft launch phase and meet operational requirements under in-orbit vacuum conditions and severe temperature variations.

Genrobotics will carry out mechanism design, precision motion control, and related engineering development for the robotic arm. The company's R&D and manufacturing facility, located at KINFRA Industrial Park in Thiruvananthapuram, India, is equipped with advanced robotics and precision engineering R&D resources and undertakes the technical development of its space robotics and specialized mechanical systems.
