en.Wedoany.com Reported - In July 2026, Sichuan Province's first residential community energy storage demonstration project was put into trial operation at Nanfeng Garden, Dafeng Subdistrict, Xindu District, Chengdu. The project adopts Infypower's liquid-cooled transformer-area energy storage system, employing an intelligent charge-discharge strategy to "store electricity during off-peak hours and discharge during peak hours," aiming to alleviate transformer overload during the summer electricity consumption peak and provide a replicable transformer-area energy storage solution for urban power grids to cope with summer peak demand.

When deploying energy storage equipment in residential areas, safety and noise are the primary considerations. Infypower's liquid-cooled transformer-area energy storage system utilizes liquid cooling technology, which, compared to traditional air-cooled energy storage, offers lower operating noise and more uniform heat dissipation. Its fire protection and temperature control standards meet the requirements for close-range deployment in residential areas, and daily operation does not disturb residents' lives. The system features a fully enclosed design with an IP55 protection rating, enabling stable operation under extreme weather conditions such as high heat and severe cold.

The project features a customized intelligent energy storage charge-discharge strategy developed by Infypower. Based on day-ahead weather and load forecasting, the system uses an AI platform to formulate an hour-level charge-discharge plan for the following day, while monitoring transformer load data in real time to dynamically adjust charge-discharge commands at the minute or even second level. The accompanying intelligent control platform automatically stores grid electricity during nighttime off-peak hours and releases it during evening peak hours when residents cook and use air conditioning intensively, sharing the transformer's supply load and addressing distribution transformer overload during the summer peak season through a "peak shaving and valley filling" approach.

Unlike traditional fixed energy storage installations, Infypower's transformer-area energy storage system features a modular, movable design that requires no poured concrete foundation, making installation, disassembly, and transport relatively convenient. This design allows the energy storage equipment to be flexibly deployed according to seasonal electricity demand, suitable both for summer power supply assurance in older residential communities and for rapid relocation to other areas experiencing temporary electricity shortages. From investment and deployment to operation, maintenance, and relocation, this design lowers the application threshold for community energy storage.

As demonstrated by the pilot project at Nanfeng Garden in Xindu District, Chengdu, Infypower is exploring a replicable path for community energy storage through liquid-cooled energy storage technology and intelligent charge-discharge strategies, providing safe and green electricity assurance for urban communities.
