en.Wedoany.com Reported - ORLEN New Power has completed the acquisition of a 216 MW hybrid renewable energy project in the municipality of Kazimierz Biskupi, Greater Poland Voivodeship. The project comprises a 180 MW photovoltaic plant and a 36 MW wind farm, with an expected annual generation of approximately 315 GWh, sufficient to meet the electricity demand of nearly 143,000 households.

The project assets were purchased from Polish developers ONDE and Neo Energy Group, both of which will continue to be involved in the subsequent work: ONDE will serve as the general contractor, while Neo Energy Group will be responsible for construction management. Energa Green Development will oversee the entire construction process on behalf of the ORLEN Group.

The wind farm portion will feature nine Vestas V136 turbines, each with a capacity of 4 MW. The project employs cable pooling technology, allowing the PV and wind installations to share grid connection infrastructure, thereby improving available capacity utilization and smoothing generation fluctuations caused by weather variability.

Construction of the project is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2026, with first grid connection expected in early 2028 and full commercial operation in the second quarter of 2028. The Kazimierz Biskupi project is located approximately 8 kilometers from the Kleczew wind-solar plant, and together they will reach a combined installed capacity of 485 MW, forming one of Poland's largest onshore renewable energy clusters upon completion, while also creating synergies in operations and maintenance.
