Groundbreaking ceremony of the Dau Tieng 5 Solar Power Plant project in Duong Minh Chau Commune, Tay Ninh Province. The project has an installed capacity of 450 MW and a total investment of 7.774 trillion VND.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were representatives of leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Ministry of Finance, Vietnam Electricity Group, Electricity Trading Company, National Power System and Electricity Market Operation One-Member Limited Liability Company, leaders and former leaders of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, as well as representatives from departments, sectors, localities, investors, contractors, and partner enterprises.

The project is invested and developed by DT5.1 Energy Joint Stock Company (a member of Xuan Cau Holdings Joint Stock Company), located on an area of approximately 645 hectares of semi-submerged land on Dau Tieng Lake. The project will synchronously construct a photovoltaic panel system, distributed inverters, transformer stations, transmission lines, and grid connection infrastructure.

The project is expected to be completed and put into commercial operation in December 2027. Once operational, the plant will supply over 808 million kWh (GWh) of clean electricity annually to the national power system, meeting the electricity demand for socio-economic development, while contributing to Vietnam's net-zero emission commitment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

According to the investor, since 2018, Xuan Cau Holdings has invested in the Dau Tieng 1, 2, and 3 solar power plant clusters with a total capacity of 500 MW, built on an area of approximately 720 hectares, which were the largest solar power plant cluster in Southeast Asia when they came into operation. The continued investment in Dau Tieng 5 is expected to add momentum to the development of the clean energy industry in Tay Ninh Province, serving the country's goals of green growth and energy security in the new phase.

On the day of the groundbreaking ceremony, DT5.1 Energy Joint Stock Company donated a total of 1 billion VND to Tay Ninh Province's Study Promotion Fund and the fund for poor households in Duong Minh Chau Commune to support local social welfare.
