Toyota Motor North America Signs 15-Year Solar Agreement with Constellation, Set to Begin Operation in September 2027
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Constellation and Toyota Motor North America announced the signing of a 15-year renewable energy agreement to support the development of the Milano Solar project in Milam County, Texas, USA. Under the arrangement, Constellation has separately signed a long-term power purchase agreement with project developer Ferrovial Energy, covering more than 115 MW of solar capacity, corresponding to an annual generation of approximately 246,000 MWh.

The Milano Solar project has a total installed capacity of 203.97 MW, is being developed by Ferrovial Energy, and is expected to enter commercial operation in September 2027. Toyota will not directly receive power from the project; instead, through Constellation's CORe solution, it will obtain renewable energy certificates (RECs) generated by the Milano Solar project and retired by Constellation over the 15-year agreement term.
In this transaction, Toyota's long-term procurement commitment supports Constellation's signing of a PPA with Ferrovial for more than 115 MW of the project. The relevant agreements cover part of the Milano Solar project's generation, not the entire 203.97 MW project.
Toyota is currently advancing its eighth North American Environmental Action Plan, with goals including matching 100% of its North American operations' electricity use with renewable energy through virtual power purchase agreements, renewable energy certificates, and on-site solar, among other means. In January of this year, Toyota Motor North America also signed a 15-year virtual power purchase agreement with Lightsource bp, corresponding to the 231 MW Jones City 2 solar project in Texas.
