At 3:28 on October 2, Unit 1 of the Qinghai Huadian Golmud Phase I 2×660MW Coal-Fired Power Project was successfully connected to the grid for the first time on its initial attempt. The unit's main and auxiliary systems operated smoothly, with excellent key parameters, marking the official grid connection of Unit 1 and its capability for external power transmission, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent 168-hour full-load trial operation and high-quality commissioning on schedule.
The Qinghai Huadian Golmud Phase I 2×660MW Coal-Fired Power Project is located in Golmud City, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, at an average altitude of approximately 2,800 meters. It is currently the ultra-supercritical coal-fired power project with the highest altitude and the largest installed capacity in China.

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The project has a total investment of approximately RMB 6.2 billion, with a designed annual power generation of approximately 6 billion kWh. It plans to construct two 660MW ultra-supercritical indirect air-cooled extraction-condensing coal-fired units, with simultaneous construction of flue gas desulfurization and SCR denitrification facilities, ensuring that ambient air pollutant emissions meet the requirements of ultra-low emission standards. The 660MW high-efficiency ultra-supercritical deep peak-shaving unit designed for burning high-alkali coal in high-altitude regions, as adopted by this project, has been listed by the National Energy Administration in the fifth batch of the First (Set) Major Technical Equipment List in the Energy Sector.
