en.Wedoany.com Reported - The 17.85 MWp solar plant built by Ferrovial has entered operation, generating clean electricity each year sufficient to meet the power needs of more than 10,200 households and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 9,200 tonnes annually.

German Garde, Construction Director of Aquila Clean Energy Spain, stated that the commissioning of yet another renewable energy project in the region demonstrates that when companies, institutions and local residents join efforts, they can drive the energy system toward a more sustainable direction and enable all parties to benefit.

During the project development and construction phases, the company carried out multiple initiatives centered on local economic and social development, including offering a "Renewable Energy in the Classroom" course at several schools in Medina del Campo, organizing specialized training courses on the installation and maintenance of solar PV plants, and signing a cooperation agreement to support training and employment for vulnerable groups.

Jorge de Miguel, Development and Construction Director of Aquila Clean Energy Spain, stated that the commissioning of this plant reflects the company's approach of creating tangible value in the regions where its projects operate; Aquila Clean Energy supports renewable energy project development with social and environmental programs that directly benefit local communities.

These social initiatives are complemented by biodiversity protection measures implemented around the plant, including the installation of pollinator shelters and nest boxes, as well as various landscape integration improvements.

With the commissioning of this solar plant, the company further consolidates its business presence in Castilla y León. The company has promoted and continues to develop projects in the provinces of Zamora, León, Soria, Palencia and Valladolid. To date, the company has developed, built and commissioned 17 grid-connected solar projects in Spain, with a total installed capacity of 549 MW.
