Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 29, Skanska, in partnership with FlatironDragados, has been awarded a contract by Los Angeles World Airports for the initial phase of the Airfield and Terminal Modernization Program Roadway Improvements Project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Valued at USD 323 million, the contract assigns Skanska a 55 percent share, equivalent to USD 178 million. The project, set to be completed by the end of 2026, includes critical infrastructure upgrades such as bridge construction, demolition, and utility relocations.
The initiative aims to enhance the airport’s roadway infrastructure, improving accessibility and efficiency for travelers and airport operations. “This project represents a significant step in modernizing LAX’s infrastructure to meet growing demand,” a Skanska spokesperson stated. The work will focus on optimizing traffic flow and ensuring long-term durability of the airport’s facilities, supporting one of the busiest transportation hubs in the United States.
Skanska’s collaboration with FlatironDragados leverages their combined expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects. The scope includes constructing new bridges and relocating utilities to support the airport’s operational needs.
