Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 17, Analysts at Oil World, citing projections from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, estimate that Argentina's soybean exports from September 2025 to March 2026 will hit a record 7.2 million tonnes. This marks a substantial rise from the 0.6 million tonnes exported in the same period a year ago.

Of this total, around 6.8 million tonnes is anticipated to go to China. For the full 2025/26 marketing year, shipments might reach 12.6 million tonnes, a potential threefold jump from the 4.57 million tonnes in 2024/25.

At the start of September, soybean inventories in Argentina stood at 33 million tonnes, the highest ever recorded. Yet, projections suggest these stocks will drop to the lowest in recent years by early 2026, driven by heightened exports of oilseeds and related products.

For 2025/26, soybean output is expected to total about 50 million tonnes, an increase of 1 million tonnes from the prior year, with closing stocks projected at 2.4 million tonnes, down from 6.85 million tonnes the previous season.

China has resumed large-scale purchases of Argentine soybeans after a six-year pause, often at premiums over U.S. contracts. This renewed trade supports the optimistic export outlook, benefiting from ample supplies and strong international demand.

The surge in exports reflects Argentina's robust position in the global soybean market, where it plays a key role as a supplier. Higher shipments are likely to bolster revenues for producers and contribute to economic stability in the agricultural sector.

Domestic processing and exports of soybean derivatives, such as meal and oil, are also expected to benefit from the increased availability. This could enhance efficiency in the supply chain, from farms to ports, while addressing global needs for protein-rich feeds and oils.

As inventories tighten toward the end of the season, careful management will be essential to balance export commitments with local requirements. Nonetheless, the record projections signal confidence in Argentina's ability to meet rising international needs.

Overall, these developments highlight the importance of soybeans to Argentina's economy, with potential to influence worldwide prices and trade patterns. The focus on expanding exports while sustaining production levels underscores efforts to capitalize on favorable market conditions.
